Christmas at The Clavadel

Recuperation comes in many forms and last week we were delighted to welcome all of our guests at The Clavadel for a jolly good Christmas lunch hosted by Charles Geoghegan and his team of merry helpers.

The festivities started with a cold glass of prosecco and canapes in the Drawing Room followed by a delicious, traditional Christmas lunch cooked by our head chef Sarah.

The 28lb turkey took four hours to cook and with all the trimmings it made for an indulgent feast.  The menu included pigs in blankets, stuffing, cranberry sauce, bread sauce and perfectly roasted vegetables.

Crackers were pulled, hats were donned and Giuseppe, our hotel services manager poured fine wine.  There was plenty of laughter that resonated all around the room along with a few bad jokes!

When the dessert trolley arrived our diners were suitably impressed with a spectacular flamed Christmas Pudding with Brandy sauce and a Clementine Curd Meringue Roulade.

What a wonderful way to help bring strength and happiness to the soul whilst recovering from an operation.
