A year in the life of The Clavadel

Looking back, 2025 marked eleven years since The Clavadel first established itself as the newest and most innovative member of the Surrey healthcare family. 

From auspicious beginnings we have gone from strength to strength, subsequently welcoming thousands of patients through our doors who have chosen to entrust us with their care and well-being.

While highly regarded among consultants and local healthcare professionals as a leading provider of rehabilitative and convalescent care, our most gratifying praise undoubtedly comes from our patients, some of whom have been kind enough to put their thoughts on paper by way of ‘thank you’ messages.

Another year as a centre of excellence …

A common thread among the heartwarming messages we receive are the comments in praise of our extraordinarily high standard of care: ‘exemplary’, ‘outstanding’, and ‘five-star’ are familiar compliments.

We always endeavour to make any stay, however short or long, as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. However, our aim is always to assist our guests in achieving as speedy a recovery as possible – something patients are keen to engage in and welcome wholeheartedly, as they often attest to: ‘After my operation, I have so much movement, which is largely down to the exceptional care – for which I am always grateful’.

From the outset, the vision and drive of founder Charles Geoghegan ensured The Clavadel would be unique in the superior quality of both its healthcare services and residential care. Such exacting standards require a skilled team represented across all departments. From nursing, physio and housekeeping to catering, admin and guest services, every staff member is specially selected for their experience and skill set.

Evidently, a successful recovery depends on a holistic approach to well-being; as one guest commented: ‘The physiotherapy and hydrotherapy was very beneficial. The excellent food helped me get my appetite back, and the hair, manicure, and massage sessions were very therapeutic’.
